Although they appear human, and for the most part they are, witches and wizards will always have a place in Olympus Academy. Their magic, which is inherited from parent to child, will always set them apart from the humans many choose to live beside. Although in today's culture they are more likely to be accepted many still fear the human world and want their children to learn to control their abilities in a safe environment. Traits Witches and Wizards magic is inherited which means that a child of a witch or wizard might not always have the required gene for magic. And even if they did, it might not always become activated. For many simply coming into contact with their families Grimoire is enough to awaken their magic however for some it takes a traumatic event to activate the gene. It is possible for magic to just appear in a seemingly human family this is due to the family having not having an activated gene in the family for a long enough time period that they put it all down to childish nonsense. In order to perform any form of magic they must recite a spell which can be found within their Grimoire. A witches Grimoire is specific to their family. The spells inside can be performed by anyone however it will work much better for a person who is a member of that blood line. Witches and Wizards have an animal companion known as a familiar. A familiar can come in any form and helps protect the witch or wizard from anything that would do them harm. Incredibly strong witches and wizards are capable of performing spells without the incantation however this takes years of practice. Witches and Wizards are unfortunately responsible for many of the supernatural creatures in Olympus having been created. It was a wizard who cursed the first werewolf, a witch who created the first vampire are they are mostly responsible for summoning demons to the human world in the past (however the vast majority of newer demons on earth are thanks to the rise in demonology in pop culture) and as such have a rather strained relationship with those of those species for the most part. Witches and Wizards do not require wands or any other sort of magic object to perform spells however they do make a spell more powerful.
